love is a blood red, fear is just a brighter shade memory is saturation, its absence a peaceful gray I have an old canvas for ulterior intentions of dominating artists, flinging shades of red drown in gory paint until I die I'll never complain or explain why shades and tones of what has long since passed color earth and sky and it will last forever is there mercy? is there peace? is there anyone who sees? build an altar on the ground and burn this canvas, burn it down burn this canvas to the ground burn this canvas, burn it down

crows come home without a noise broken branches make a nest quiet voices would be best when crows come home, they don't rejoice crows come home and never age put a marble on the rug morning sun can only shrug at a dark bird's barless cage try to read a wandering mind that takes your heart so far away it's all right to be afraid but welcome home the birds you find afraid to be indifferent to every passing thought the demons that bite until you cry red dogs are not inerrant and never need to be fought find the next updraft and try to fly crows come home and settle down you're OK with them around crows come home and say good night in the morning you take flight open skies

daylight, daylight I run to you; you're within view your woods are vast and faceted your door lies down the hill from me I'm not where I'm supposed to be but that's where the adventure led daylight, cloud cover rest my mind; you're always kind reflecting on a day well spent my body is sunburnt and tired but suddenly I feel inspired to record what I think we meant when we had our day together two days past and I don't know what we meant or what this song is about but it's changed to seven-eight and that's new for me so let's have fun shoehorned meaning on a pleasant afternoon -- what's wrong with me? my first instinct is to romanticize every experience can't I just go for a nice walk? is this where every adventure leads? here I have this little demon, wrapped him by his tail around my finger he takes my inspiration, torches it, then leaves the ashy doubts that linger if I bottle up his body, part of me will die along with him and if I indulge his ego, I'll spend my life running after him but if I attack his nonsense, I'm afraid that I'll turn into him how did demons end up in this song? what was I singing about? daylight, constant star you're always there when I'm nowhere guiding light, you are my thirst upon the sight of hills and trees and every grass stain on my knees my glowing core, burn bright and burst curiosity is my cornerstone a wandering mind that's never afraid to be alone even when my thoughts are dead and I have let the shadows in I'll count on you to warm my skin if that's where my adventure leads
